FAQs

  • The Amulet potentiostat is Amulet Scientific’s core handheld device, which can be paired with standard screen-printed electrodes for onsite detection. Amulet Scientific’s food-safety kit bundles the device with specific sensor strips to detect particular food toxins and contaminants, such as glyphosate or histamine.

  • The Amulet potentiostat launched in 2025 and is available for purchase today. Our Amulet food safety test kits—currently in pilot programs for glyphosate and histamine detection—are planned for commercial availability in 2026.

  • WIFI or a smartphone aren’t required for the Amulet to run a test. Users can initiate a test from either the physical device or the Amulet Scientific app.

  • Amulet Scientific supports the most common electrochemical methods: chronoamperometry, multi-step chronoamperometry, differential pulse voltammetry, and square wave voltammetry.

    Cyclic voltammetry coming soon.

  • The Amulet comes with both 3-pin and 4-pin connectors for use with 3-pin and 4-pin screen-printed electrodes.

3-pin electrode connector: fits the most commonly used SPEs with 2.54 mm connector pitch and thicknesses ranging from 0.175 - .5 mm.

4-pin electrode connector: fits custom dual-plex sensors. Available upon request.

  • We partner with OG Carbon to offer disposable, superior screen-printed electrodes for your testing needs—great for biosensor research, quality control systems, and teaching electrochemistry. OG Carbon can customize electrodes upon request.

  • The Amulet is not waterproof. Avoid getting the Amulet potentiostat and connector wet.

  • ~200-300 tests, or around 10 days of normal use.

  • The Amulet can only be paired to a single device at a time.
